Riverstones
From his glass studio in Whanganui, Artist Lyndsay Patterson makes these glass
river stones that are hand blown and hot formed at the furnace. They continue his interest in notions of the keepsake, the found object imbued with the memory and the place of where is was gathered. Each piece is unique in its form, colour and feel in the hand.
All originals have been made by hand therefore any unique imperfections are deemed as apart of the Artwork. No one piece is the same.
River Stones - 'The Story'
These glass river stones are hand blown and hot formed at the furnace. They continue my interest in notions of the keepsake, the found object imbued with the memory and the place of where is was gathered.
Each piece is unique in its form, colour and feel in the hand. In New Zealand we all live close to a river, a mountain. Each of these stones has a river running through it. I have used an adventurine glass (sparkles) to symbolise the magic or spirit that flows through these special places.
